IRC Network SceneP2P

IRC network SceneP2P was registered on netsplit.de in October 2013. Since that time our data collector regularly connects IRC network SceneP2P to determine its key performance indicators, such as its number of users and its number of chat rooms (IRC channels). On this occasion a list of visible (not private) chat rooms is requested too.

- Welcome to the SceneP2P IRC Network.

- All users are expected to connect using SSL/TLS on port 6697 or 9999.

- By connecting to SceneP2P, you grant permission for the network to
- perform security and abuse-prevention checks on your host/IP/domain.
- These checks may include, but are not limited to, identd, authentication,
- DNSBL lookups, open port scanning, and proxy detection.
- The use of open or unsecured proxies, Tor, or similar anonymization services
- is prohibited and may result in an immediate ban.

- Users are strongly encouraged to register their nickname with NickServ:
- /NickServ HELP REGISTER
- To prevent nickname expiration, you must identify to NickServ at least once every 60 days.

- SceneP2P supports SASL authentication with mechanisms
- EXTERNAL (TLS client certificates) and PLAIN.
- SASL authentication occurs during connection,
- before the user becomes visible on the network,
- and automatically identifies you to NickServ.
- Authenticated (trusted) users are exempt from connection throttling,
- ident/auth/DNSBL checks, and certain other restrictions.

- All users are expected to use SASL to authenticate with NickServ.

- SceneP2P is powered by UnrealIRCd and supports modern IRCv3 features
- (see https://ircv3.net/).
- Older clients may experience errors or disconnects.
- Users are responsible for ensuring they are using a current, supported IRC client.

- Harassment of any kind is not tolerated on the SceneP2P IRC Network.
- A zero-tolerance policy is enforced.

- Flooding, spamming, advertising, posting unsolicited websites, images, or text,
- sharing personal information or abusing server commands is strictly prohibited.

- A maximum of three (3) concurrent connections per host/IP/domain is permitted.

- Any attempt to evade network bans through the use of VPNs, BNCs, shells, proxies, IP cycling,
- or similar methods will be treated as hostile activity.

- IRC may not be suitable for individuals below the age of majority in their respective country.
- SceneP2P administration recommends that parents or guardians supervise minors’ IRC usage.

- SceneP2P administrators reserve the right to terminate access to the network at any time, with or without notice.
